Current & Potential Transformers

At Custom Magnetics, we can design and manufacture a wide range of transformers, including current and potential transformers. We offer our design and engineering expertise for any custom transformer project and, for certain transformers, provide prototyping and sampling services on request.

Regardless of the instrument transformer you need, we can manufacture it according to your unique specifications. We have a large facility with multiple-layer winders, automatic lamination stacking machines, vacuum impregnation tanks, a variety of computerized testing equipment, and 3D design and printing capabilities. Our facility is also run by an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system, so our customers can be sure that they’re getting the best quality and value for their projects when they work with us.

Current Transformers

Current or series transformers provide a safe and convenient way to monitor the electrical current flowing in an AC transmission line. Depending on their configuration, they detect overcurrent, undercurrent, peak current, and average current conditions. Depending on your application’s needs, we can develop one of the basic types of these transformers, wound, toroidal, or bar-type, or we can work with you to find a custom solution.

Potential Transformers

Potential transformers are a type of instrument transformer used to measure voltage in a wide range of applications, such as power transmission and distribution systems, industrial power systems, residential electrical systems, and much more. They’re crucial for providing safe, accurate measurements for all these applications to ensure everything functions properly. We have experience producing a wide range of instrument transformers, potential transformers included, and we will work closely with you to ensure that we produce a product that meets your requirements.
